We first visited and stayed for 1 night in 2009. We loved it then and wanted to return to see what improvements have been done. They have made quite a few . We stayed for 2 nights this time. We felt very much at home,Barb and her sister Ivy are very friendly and feel as we are long lost friends. We had a meal with on Saturday with our friends joining us. We cooked our steaks which suited me as I like a blue steak. We had several vegetables some cooked in the camp oven. Followed by a lovely dessert. We sat in front of an open fire. What else would you expect from a farm stay. The rustic setting of the dining room ads to the ambiance. This is a very budgeted stay and a very enjoyable one. We highly recommend. We will return and tell everyone to visit. Thank you for your hospitality and wish you all the best. Till next time take care.

We stayed in a cabin. The accommodation is old, dust infested and built from asbestos sheeting. It has electric blankets but electricity is turned off overnight. The plumbing was very dated and the bathtub rusted. Hot water cut out during showers and during the night there was no water!

We had one breakfast and were not convinced that $16 per person was worth it, not to mention $40 per person for an evening meal, which we declined.

We camped at Bindara for 2 nights and had a wonderful time! Its a good hour and a half to two hour drive from Broken Hill. Barb and family were very welcoming, the toilets/showers in the camping area were clean and hot. In the evening you can gather at the camp kitchen around the fire and chat /play cards with other guests which we enjoyed very much. The walking, fishing, gathering wood for the fire was all done with Lacy the resident dog who was gorgeous, we wanted to take her home with us. If you love remote river camping while getting away from all the mod cons, (we had no problems with coverage) I would highly recommend this stop on your travels, we would have loved to be able stay longer.

Conclusion: the place was run down and can't really be run by one person when several guests are resident. Definitely cannot recommend and won't be going back there!

There were a number of puppies who were left tied up and at times without water.

We were berated by the host for entering a "prohibited" area consisting of old machinery and vehicles whereas the host admitted that she had forgotten to get us to sign a compliance declaration. The reason for the denied access to that area of the farm was "People on the internet come and steal stuff"

We opted to go on the "History Tour" for $5 per person. At the start of the tour we were told that the price had gone up to $7.50... the tour lasted for 10 minutes and was confined to the house only, then we were ushered out the front door. There were 5 people on the tour.

Host was not welcoming and "too busy" to answer any questions we had regarding WIFI or telstra coverage as it was spotty (No problem since that's what you'd expect in the outback! but you would expect responses from your host).
